Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28 the 28th of October, 1967. Roberts belongs to the fourth generation of Robertses that reside in the Atlanta area, starting by her grandfather John Pendleton Roberts a farmer. In the early years of his life the father of her mother became obsessed by theatre. When he was a student at Emory University he appeared in numerous productions in and outside of campus. When he joined in 1953 the Air force in Biloxi, he was seen together with Betty Lou Bredemus in Biloxi. Eric Anthony was their first born. The couple got married in 1957. Walter was a student at Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana after leaving the Airforce in the year 1957. Walter was recruited by Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to be a part of the production team for the television show Bum Bum His Buddies in Decatur Georgia. Walter and Betty Lou began producing a children's television program in the city of Decatur, Georgia titled Bum Bum and His Buddies. The production was funded by the couple their own. In 1964, Walter and Betty Lou established The Actors and Writers Workshop. The workshop lasted about six years. In 1965, they welcomed two more children into their lives: Lelisa Billingsley and Julia Billingsley.
